Just received the news, Louis won the juror award at The Ann Arbor Art Center's 94th Annual All Media exhibition. The juror, international known artist, Paul Kotula selected the winners after viewed the artworks in person. Here is what was said in the email
"Our juror, Paul Kotula spent time in the gallery and was "delighted to find that all of the work was much stronger in-person than the experience of reviewing online." With so many outstanding artworks in the show, Paul found it impossible to choose a Best in Show, and did not feel comfortable ranking any of the works against the others. Instead, he has asked us to combine prize awards (along with his juror stipend) to be evenly distributed among ten artworks that he feels stand out in the exhibit. Each of the winning artists will receive a $100 Juror Award.
Congratulations to following artists:
Jean-Paul Aboudib - Chaos In Captivity
Louis Boyang - Mother's Day
CJ Breil - Conduct Becoming: Surveys #3 and #4
Yuling Chuang - Exist, Coexist: Harmony 2
Analicia Honkanen - Dallying (Free Wet Hugz)
Nathan Margoni - No Fear
Robert Mirek - No. 681
Julia Pangborn-Harley - A Brown, Gravelly Road Framed by Barren Plants
Cristin Velliky - Hull
Yuge Zhou - Green Play
We are grateful to Paul Kotula for all of his efforts and for giving such thoughtful consideration to each piece in the show. I know the selection process was a difficult one, and we could not be more pleased with the results."
