The boys were so into video games after our vacation, because mom and dad let them played a lot. That was mom and dad's fault. :-)
Then we had a serious talk yesterday about it. The boys decided to limit their video game playing time and focus more on art and academic work.
Max said, he noticed the big difference in his art when he tried hard and not tried hard. :-)
The beetle piece was originally on a larger paper. Max accidentally knocked down a whole bottle of black ink on the paper. Luckily the ink was on the top part of the paper, so he cut the top off and started a line of beetles on the bottom.
Louis finished these two pieces he started before the vacation.
The white peonies were salvaged flowers from Whole Food. We went to Whole Food one day, and saw they were throwing these beautiful white peonies away. We asked whether we could still buy them, They said no because those flowers were full bloom and would die in a day or two. But, they said they could give them to us if we wanted. Hooray! We then bought some purple irises to go with the peonies.
That is the story behind this peony painting. :-)
