Max finished this cicada piece last night. This is his first finished work after he turned 11. Max still has two more WIP pieces.
He used a special kind of watercolor on the bugs. The paint has metallic effect. It looks so beautiful in person. We couldn't capture that in the picture though. :-)
He just started a Caterpillar piece this morning. He is definitely expanding his bug work collections. :-)
Louis finished this one tonight. It took him a month to do this. He hasn't named it yet.
He had to use white paint to cover the dirty background. Both boys still need to learn how to work neatly :-)
All the bug pieces Max has done were sold, so he wanted to create more. He is working on this bee drawing. He is debating whether to put color on it or not.
Louis is still slowly working on this flower painting. It is an 14"x18" piece. There is a lot more to do.
Max finished this experimental abstract landscape.
At the beginning we thought he might do a Vincent Van Gogh style painting. Soon it was obvious that this is a Max Boyang style painting.
He put design on the side of the canvas board as well. (Not shown in the picture though)
