The boys can never settle on one work alone. They always like to switch between pieces to keep them interested. Every time when they want to work, they would decide which unfinished ones are the right ones for their mood.
Max is working on a collage. He uses pen and ink to draw bugs and plans to do some abstract painting on the background. He is also working on a lake lighthouse painting.
Louis started another peony drawing because mom kept asking him to draw one for her. He is working on a farmer's market painting at the same time.
So they got 6 WIP together. :-)
Max wants to create four small abstract artworks to put them together. He finished the first two almost three months ago.
Yesterday he decided to work on the third one. He finished it within half an hour. He insisted that it was done, although mom thought it is far from done.
Well, guess mom doesn't understand what goes through an artist's mind :-)
Louis is still working on this graphite piece. He just finished the building and is working on the trees.
Louis finally finished this watercolor piece. It took him almost three months.Every time he would only work on it for 15 mins, then complained how much he didn't like it.
The size of this one is 16x20 inch
Max finished this butterfly piece last night. He has been complaining about it all alone.
The paper for his pen and ink pieces that he normally used is bristol paper. This time he used watercolor paper.
After he put down the watercolor and waited till it dry. He started inking on it. The ink immediately smudged. All the lines are too thick. Poor thing got really mad. :-)
Any suggestion on what kind of paper or what kind of pen and ink to use for the combination of ink and watercolor?
Max finished his second dragonfly drawing. There are more dragonflies in this one.
Louis is still working on the building drawing. It is his first building drawing based on a photo.
It is not easy for him because he never likes to draw any shapes, nor even bothered to learn to do it. Louis likes to draw things out of his own imagination, mostly flowers.
This piece still needs a lot of work(for example, the windows on the second floor are not on the same level which is waiting for him to find it out by himself) but so far so good.
One of Louis's flower painting is on a roadside billboard next to a highway in our city. It will be there for a month. We are so proud of him!
Louis started this watercolor flower piece three months ago. Once in a while, he would spend 15 mins on it. This is what he got so far. He is also trying to step out his comfort zone by starting a building drawing.
Max has two pieces going on. He had put down the watercolor. It is time to ink them.
We got five framed artworks back today. They look amazing. Thank you very much, Nansie for the great work! The boys are busy preparing for the show in May.
